I consider myself a social photographer and am not here to make a living from my work. This is a hobby that I really enjoy and find so rewarding.
Photographing wildlife, I think is a game of chance to a large extent, but you do need to have some idea of what you want to achieve if you want lady luck to smile upon you. The idea is being in the right place at the right time with the light around you.
I have also been drawn into macro photography which is the art of photographing small objects like flowers, bugs etc. The minute detail you can capture can be quite fascinating.
I also enjoy emersing myself in my surroundings within Dumfries and Galloway and the North West Lakes of Cumbria, looking for interesting compositions and spectacular landscape scenes. Many of my landscapes have appeared on the weather forecasts on ITV Tyne Tees and Border television.
2011 has indeed been an exceptionally busy year for me. The South of Scotland Car Club which was founded in 1947 ( website www.soscc.co.uk) have honoured me by making me their official photographer. As a result I have attended all the major rallies throughout the U.K. and Autotests and 12 Car rallies organised by the club.
I am sure 2012 will be equally as busy attending all the major rallies throughout the UK and autotests and 12 Car ralles organised by the South of Scotland Car Club. I also cover functions for Dumfriesshire Newspapers Group on behalf of the Chief Reporter Mr Rod Edgar of Annandale Observer and Herald, Dumfries Courier and the Moffat News.
I hope you continue to enjoy and achieve some satisfaction from my Images and feel free to choose if you like.
Regards
